Retaining the Pinks…

Happily gadding in pink gown, Lily rose to life....
Everyday adding the fragrance to life
Every stitch; every layer flaunted innocence gifted by god
Each layer; each detail held her complexity intact!!

An undercurrent of evil vile flows close by
The dark vile is violent and manipulative
Gaiting closer to smudge it dirty
Eager to turn you malevolent
Each drop each day… encountering the world

One at a time… slowing decolouring the pink
Drip…
I see shades of greed, turn you inhuman
A cry for help makes you happier

Another one drops to the ruffled lacy layer
Drip….
Distrust stems up; every mind seems like a scheme machine
you sleep with your eyes open; as friends may kill you..

Another one grows bigger and driblet freely falling
Drip…
I see others happiness mocking me!
Drowning me.. Hounding me..

Ohh!! But I love my Pinks.. I won’t lose it!!
I hope I retain my pink innocence
To again find joy in simple smiles on a lonely road
To hear words as they are said…
To see world without Cynical specs
To speak without weighing words
I want to  dance in my Pinks again..
I hope I retain my Pinks!!

  1. Brilliant piece Meenal. But I didn't get the theme correctly, please correct me if I'm mistaken but the central theme is sarcasm of Pink feelings, right?

    Keep up the good work

  4. BRAVO!!! My lovely gal!! Bravo!! This was the first word that came to my mind after reading it. You really made me elated with joy and words will be too insufficient to express it. Life is only for those who are ready to fight not only with the world but at times with their own inner-self. Loved it Meenal !! Keep writing :) :)

  5. You'll keep your pinks and you're joys. The key to that is to keep writing it all out. Cynics become cynics when they comment on what you do without knowing your reasons for it and this the best way to get back at them.
P.s : you still havent told me where you got that super pic with that pink dress that she's wearing.

  6. I really love this one! Its so vivid, I can actually picture it in my head. The mark of a good writer is that she can actually take people into her world and show them her imagination. You really did it with this one! And I know you will retain your pinks, my mints. The pink that is the brightest has been through the darkest night. You are majestic my hun, coz you know how to delve deep into the darkest corners of your mind and have the courage to be honest. Kudos to you!
